BUCKRAM – STIFF TWO-PLY CLOTH FOR MILLINERY (WHITE)

Buckram – A blockable, stiff two-ply fabric designed for millinery applications, offering excellent shape and stability.

One side is buckram, while the other is gauze. A suitable alternative to the now-extinct sparterie, it is excellent for fabric-covered hats, as the two-ply construction allows for even seams and a smooth surface. It softens with dry heat or steam and, once cooled or dry, becomes stiff again.
